How LCL and FCL charges differ
LCL quotes use a stated weight/measurement basis, with minimum charges and handling fees. FCL quotes are based on the selected container and service. Confirm the calculation basis and include non-stackable cargo when comparing rates.
Oversized cargo and special-container costs
Open top, flat rack and out-of-gauge shipments may involve additional slot space, lifting and securing charges. Final packed dimensions and load characteristics affect the quote. Include every crate, base and protruding component in the cargo measurements.
China origin charges
Origin services can include supplier pickup, warehouse receiving, consolidation, repacking, crates or pallets, loading and export documentation. Identify which services you need at Guangzhou or Shenzhen and which are already provided by the supplier.
US customs and delivery charges
Destination costs can include port handling, customs clearance, duties, container pickup, unloading and trucking. Residential delivery, liftgate, appointments, waiting time and remote-area access affect the delivery quote.
EXW, FOB and door-to-door quotes
The agreed trade term and named place determine the quoted responsibilities. For EXW, discuss collection from the supplier. For FOB, identify the origin charges handled by the seller and the charges handled by the buyer. For DAP or DDP, clarify import clearance, duties and delivery scope.
